Terms of service

THE TERMS, IN PLAIN ENGLISH.

Last updated September 21, 2026 · Loop is in beta; this document will change as the product does, and we will say so here when it does.

The short version

Loop is a tool for running golf trips: it keeps score, works out who's winning and who owes whom, and keeps the history. It's in beta and free while it is. Use it fairly, don't put anything in it you don't have the right to, and settle your own bets — Loop only does the arithmetic.

1. The service

"Loop" is the website at loopgolfhq.com and the application at loophq.golf, run by Loop Golf ("we"). Using either means you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you organize a Loop, you're also confirming you have permission to add the people you add to it.

2. The beta

Loop is a beta. Features will change, some things will break, and we may reset or migrate data with notice. Every Loop you run during the beta is free. When paid plans launch we'll tell account holders well before anything is charged, and beta groups will keep their history.

3. Accounts

  • You need to be 16 or older to create an account.
  • During the beta, accounts are created with an invitation code or by being on a Loop's roster. Keep your code and your password to yourself.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
  • Golfers can join a Loop by link and PIN without an account. Their results are held under the organizer's Loop until they claim them.

4. Money

Loop calculates stakes, skins pots and settlements from the numbers you enter and shows who owes whom. Loop does not hold, move, process or guarantee any money. Whether and how you settle is entirely between the people on the trip, and it's your responsibility to make sure any wagering is lawful where you play. We are not a party to any bet.

5. Your content

What you put into Loop — names, scores, moments, notes — stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people on your Loop and your group, and process it to run the service. You're responsible for having the right to enter it, including other people's names and email addresses. Don't enter anything unlawful, abusive, or that you'd be embarrassed to see on the first tee.

6. Fair use

Don't try to break into other people's Loops, scrape the service, overload it, or use it for anything other than organizing and playing golf. We can suspend or close accounts that do.

7. Scores and handicaps

Loop applies the handicap allowances and scoring formulas we describe on the site. They're intended to be correct, but Loop is not an official handicap or competition system: results in Loop don't post to any handicap authority, and if your group plays by different rules, your group's rules win. Check anything that matters.

8. Course data

Scorecards, ratings and slopes come from third-party providers and are snapshotted into each round when it's created. They can be wrong or out of date; you can correct them for your Loop, and we'd like to hear when they are.

9. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Loop up, especially on trip weekends, but it's provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Loop Golf isn't liable for lost data, missed tee times, disputed skins, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using or being unable to use Loop. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, during the beta, is nothing.

10. Ending things

You can delete your account any time by emailing us. We can suspend or end access for breaking these terms, and we can wind the beta down with notice. If we do, we'll give account holders a way to export their record first.

11. Changes to these terms

We'll email account holders before any change that affects their rights, and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Loop after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [state], United States, and any dispute will be handled in its courts. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Organizer's note: the governing state is a placeholder until it's confirmed. Everything else here reflects how Loop actually works today.
